Iran continues to enrich uranium at a rate approaching weapons-grade, doing so at a "steady pace,” while its cooperation talks with the Atomic Energy Agency remain stalled, two sources told Reuters.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) now faces a series of challenges in its relations with Iran, including the fact that Iran has implemented only a small portion of the measures demanded by IAEA chief Rafael Grossi to reach a joint declaration on cooperation.

Grossi visited Iran this month for talks with senior Iranian officials to improve cooperation with the IAEA and discuss the work of UN inspectors. However, the talks were halted after the death of President Raisi in a helicopter crash.

Eighteen months have passed since the IAEA Board of Governors passed a resolution against Iran, demanding it cooperate without delay on the investigation of uranium particles.

The latest IAEA report stated that Iran enriched uranium to 60 percent.

Iran's uranium stockpile increased by 20.6 kilograms in the last quarter, reaching 142.1 kilograms as of May 11. Iran diluted 5.9 kilograms of uranium to a lower enrichment level.
