The French defense company Naval Group signed an agreement to develop a national mission management system (NCMS) for the United Arab Emirates. The company signed a cooperation deal with the Emirati Military Procurement Directorate with Marakeb Technologies, which will be the main contractor for the project.

This contract is part of a national effort in the United Arab Emirates to develop local defense industries. At the end of last year, Naval Group delivered the first corvette to the United Arab Emirates, as part of a broader agreement to supply additional naval vessels.

The French company also supplied corvettes to the Greek navy and signed an agreement with the Indian government to upgrade submarines for the Indian navy. Two years ago, Naval Group outfitted the Philippines' navy with frigates and an anti-torpedo weapon system.
