Israel’s Hi-Tech Experts Have Enlisted to Fight the Battle of Fake News

Stand4Israel shares the unfiltered reality of the current situation in Israel in multiple languages

Volunteer hi-tech experts from across Israel have volunteered to create an online platform that shares the unfiltered reality of the current situation in Israel. Its aim is to provide up-to-date information about the events of October 7 and Israel’s ensuing war with Hamas, and combatting fake news that spreads on the internet.

The website, stand4israel, includes stories about the victims of Hamas’ surprise terror attack last Saturday morning, the captives in Gaza and their families in Israel, and the survivors.

The website contains hundreds of video clips about the attacks, casualties, analyses, and responses, easily shareable on social networks and available for download. It is available in 11 languages, including English, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, and Dutch, with plans to expand to more languages and content.

The establishment of the website is an initiative by employees of the software company Kaltura, which decided to harness the company's technological tools for the benefit of Israeli public diplomacy efforts, along with other partners who worked on aggregating materials in various languages. It includes search options by topics and categories.

"From the very day the attack began, fake news content began to flood the networks. The only way to combat this is by promoting the truth,” said Lior Ashcar, one of the initiators of the website.

“We decided to boost everyone's motivation to contribute and assist in the global explanatory effort and create a platform of up-to-date information accessible to everyone. Israel's ability to tell the true story will have a critical impact on the course of the war, and we are contributing our part to that."
