Hackers Supporting Hamas and Iran Claim to Have Increased Cyber Attacks Against Israel

Expert cyber analysts told Reuters that more than a hundred websites in Israel were temporarily damaged or out of order

Groups of hackers announced that they recently attacked cyber targets in Israel and damaged websites, including that of the Jerusalem Post newspaper.

Cyber intelligence company Recorded Future has announced that there are dozens of victims of cyber attacks daily, which old and new hacktivist groups carry out.

The damage is minimal, and the hackers use "digital tools" to wage the online war.

A pro-Hamas hacker group nicknamed Anon Ghost claimed to have damaged Israel's emergency notification systems applications. According to the IDF spokesman, yesterday's incident (on Wednesday) was a human error in the application.

Another group, Anonymous Sudan, announced on Telegram that its people were damaging vital infrastructure in Israel but did not present any evidence for its claims.

Expert cyber analysts told Reuters that over a hundred websites in Israel were temporarily damaged or out-of-order in DDoS attacks (denial of service) in the last few days.

The editor-in-chief of the Jerusalem Post, Avi Meir, said that the hackers managed to strike for different periods of time in the last few days, which, according to him, violates the freedom of the press.

Reuters reports that the cyber system refused to comment on the report.

Omri Segev Moyal, CEO of the Israeli cyber security company Profero, said that his company recently noticed the cyber activity of an Iranian espionage group called Muddy Water and infiltration attempts by the company Molerats.
