Last Thursday, the Israeli Navy concluded an exercise simulating a war on the Northern Front. During the exercise, the INS Herev (Sword) and INS Hetz (Arrow) fired two Harpoon anti-ship missiles from a range of tens of kilometers and sunk the outdated INS independence. The exercise took place 200 Km west of the Tel Aviv coastline.

Capt. Ziv Rom, Commander of the Navy's Third Flotilla, said that the exercise is not a signal to the Russian Fleet sailing in the region, for it is not an enemy of Israel.
