The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, stated that over 7000 terrorists have been killed so far and that Israel needs to bring back the hostages while carrying on with the fighting. He added that more and more terrorists are surrendering and that Israel will continue the war until the objectives are achieved.
IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari, said yesterday that the situation of the Hamas field operatives is difficult, while its leadership is disconnected. The IDF and the Shin Bet continue working to bring back the 137 captives.
Yesterday, the IDF announced the names of five more soldiers who fell in battles, while 15 were seriously injured. An operation by a special forces unit to rescue a hostage from inside Gaza had failed.
About the northern front, Hanegbi stated: 'We cannot tolerate Hezbollah's Radwan force sitting beyond the border. We will need to act to enable the residents of the northern communities to return to their homes.”
Back to Gaza: In the Shejaiya neighborhood, soldiers from the Kfir Brigade eliminated a group of terrorist operatives. Paratroopers discovered several underground tunnels, one of which had an elevator installed.

In a school, another combat force found a teddy bear in which sniper rifles and ammunition were concealed. In another educational institution, an explosive device was discovered hidden in an UNRWA bag in a classroom.
