The Biden administration has sent a large number of munitions to Israel, including more than 10,000 2,000-pound (one-ton) bombs and thousands of hellfire missiles since October 7, according to two American officials who spoke to Reuters.

The report states that since the beginning of the war, the U.S. has sent Israel at least 14,000 MK-84 2,000-pound bombs, 6,500 500-pound bombs, 3,000 guided Hellfire missiles (precision air-to-ground missiles), 1,000 bunker-buster bombs, 2,600 small-diameter bombs, and additional munitions.

The total quantity of munitions indicates that there has been no significant pause in American support for its ally Israel, despite international calls to limit supply and the administration's decision to delay the shipment of powerful bombs. Experts told Reuters that the quantities sent are intended to replenish shortages in Israel after eight months of fighting.

Tom Carako, a weapons expert at the Center for Strategic Studies, told Reuters that the list reflects a high level of American support for its ally and that these are the types of munitions Israel uses against Hamas and Hezbollah. Advanced types of munitions have been sent to Israel.

The White House and the Israeli Embassy in Washington declined to comment on this report by Reuters.
