Mobius Protection Systems, an Israeli innovator in energy absorption seating systems for armored vehicles, announced it has secured a new order from Leonardo, for the production of its energy-absorbing seat systems. The value of the order has not been disclosed.

Mobius will supply its energy-absorbing seats to Leonardo for installation in the manned turret of the Centauro II vehicle. According to Mobius, based on patented technology and proven in the most extreme conditions, the meticulously designed, comfortable seating system improves ergonomics and efficiency during operation, while critically protecting the vehicle’s crew in high blast scenarios.

Other Mobius's turret seats models with different designs have been implemented by additional OEM's in several European and Middle Eastern countries.

“This new contract marks an important business achievement, in terms of both our business and engineering roadmap,” said Oren Goor, CEO of Mobius. “Designing a seat with high ergonomic and comfort levels is extremely complex, and the limited, congested area within a turret creates an enormous number of additional constraints.

“Despite these challenges, our expertise, together with our advanced engineering and design capabilities, innovation and creativity, enable us to tailor the appropriate seat configuration for any space. This project embodies our vision of enabling extreme mobility in extreme conditions, while providing the safest and most comfortable experience.”
