The training included urban warfare, counterterror tactics and "krav maga" hand-to-hand combat. "In every country that we visit, the need is the same – they all want to learn the Israeli counterterror warfare doctrine," said "S", head of the special operations division of the Infantry and Paratroopers Corps

Last week, a group of IDF troops returned to Israel after traveling over 12,000 kilometers to train the special forces of the Peruvian Army. The group consisted of 10 soldiers who were carefully selected from elite units throughout the IDF. "Each one of them is both a good instructor and a precise fighter," explained "S", head of the special operations division of the Infantry and Paratroopers Corps who served as commander of the delegation, according to a report by the IDF website (Hebrew only).

For 10 days, they conducted training for the Peruvian units at the highest level that can be offered. It included urban warfare, counterterror tactics and "krav maga" (hand to hand combat) training.  "In every country that we visit, the need is the same – they all want to learn the Israeli counterterror warfare doctrine."

The delegation named "Mobility Team Training" from the forces of the Infantry and Paratroopers Corps has now traveled to seven countries on more than three continents - Africa, Asia and South America. Before the end of the latest training, the chief of staff of the Peruvian Army came to see the Israeli counterterror training firsthand, along with the commander of the Peruvian Army's officers' school and other commanders. "I saw how much he was impressed by the cooperation," recounted "S". In a speech, the commander of the Peruvian Army said that he remembers very well how IDF representatives came when he was a young soldier, and how much it influenced him until today."
